Privacy Policy
1. Data we collect
To operate the IAMT Network, we collect:
- Identity & contact: name, email, phone, optional resume
- Profile: headline, bio, expertise, education, location, title, institute alignment, tier
- Activity: posts, comments, reactions, messages, connections, follows, RSVPs, job applications, reports you submit
- Technical: IP address, user agent, session cookies, device metadata
- Communications: emails we send and your preferences
2. Why we use it
- Operate the network service (authentication, feed, messaging, groups, events, jobs)
- Match members to opportunities based on expertise and institute
- Moderate content and enforce the Code of Conduct
- Diagnose errors and prevent abuse
- Send transactional and preference-based emails
3. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except the following subprocessors, each engaged under a data-processing agreement:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage
- Vercel — hosting and content delivery
- Resend — transactional and notification email delivery
- Sentry — error monitoring
- Cloudflare — Turnstile CAPTCHA challenge verification
We may disclose data if required by valid legal process or to protect the rights, property, or safety of IAMT, its members, or the public.
4. Retention & deletion
Account data is retained while your membership is active. You may delete your account from Settings at any time. On deletion we anonymize your profile (name replaced with "Former member," email scrubbed, bio/avatar/phone cleared) while leaving posts and comments attributed to the anonymized account so that thread integrity is preserved. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
5. Your rights
You may view, export, or delete your data from the account settings. Contact privacy@iamtpolicy.org for questions or to exercise any right granted by applicable law (including GDPR, CCPA).
6. Security
We encrypt in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Row-Level Security restricts access to your data to the minimum required for the service. We do not store unhashed passwords.
